Qualifications: Bachelor’s of Animal & Veterinary Biosciences, Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing

Originally from India, Swaraj, who goes by Raj, moved to Australia in 2018 to pursue his passion for animal care. He completed a Bachelor of Animal and Veterinary Biosciences at La Trobe University in Melbourne (2018-20) and later studied Veterinary Nursing (2023-25) at TAFE QLD in Gold Coast, before relocating to Rockhampton in July 2025 to begin his career as a veterinary nurse. Alongside his studies, Raj worked as a pet sitter with MadPaws, earning over 300 positive reviews, developing strong reliability, time-management, and client communication skills. He also has a keen interest in puppy school and nutrition, building on his studies in advanced animal nutrition, behaviour, and physiology. Raj loves cats, dogs, and other wildlife.

Outside the clinic, Raj is a traveller and road trip enthusiast. Growing up with a father who was a merchant navy ship captain, he even learned to walk aboard a ship and developed a lifelong love for exploration. He loves cars and has explored much of Australia in his Skoda Fabia and recently upgraded to a Skoda Octavia Limited Edition, ready for future adventures. He loves snow and is excited to revisit Tasmania and Kangaroo Island, and one day take a cross-country journey to Perth and back. He has also travelled internationally to Europe, Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, and the USA, and hopes to explore the UK and other destinations soon.

Raj comes from a health-focused family: his mother is a homemaker and yoga teacher, and his sister is an Ayurveda doctor. In his free time, he enjoys gaming and is a proud Hot Wheels collector, with around 500 vehicles in his collection. He doesn’t own any pets, however is looking forward to it very soon.
